OUT OF THE GATE
At 18 inches long and 28 pounds on a granite base, this bronze piece by Merchán is part of a limited edition of ten. Characteristic with the artist’s earlier sculptures, Libertad 1 exhibits the bone white patina. Casting Creations of Minnesota was the perfect shop to partner with on this project.
HERE COMES THE SUN (KING)
When I watch a period film, 16th century France to be specific, I am immediately transported to a time where aesthetics took priority…from gardens, fashion, interiors, carriages and more. JILLIAN LEE’s paintings have the same effect.

WHO WAS WHO
Great turnout at opening for artist RICHARD MERCHAN at THE Gallery at LeMéridien Chambers Minneapolis June 27, 2019. Twenty-four canvases on display, an éclectique crowd, on a beautiful warm summer evening. Thank you #artgirlsmpls.com, Matthew Galaviz-Reed, Helen O’Malley and talented videographer NICK GORDON.
TURQUOISE AND MAGENTA
SUZANNE BRIXIUS was five years old when given her first big box of Crayola color crayons. Two beautiful colors shouted out to her, they were named Turquoise and Magenta. She loved the beautiful hues and the exotic names as she fell in love with color that day. Her paintings express the joy that color brings to her life. Sunsets, flowers and M&M’s!
VIBING IN WITH 10K
Moving On is 10K's first label release and collaboration with vocalist Krissy Zayner. The two are hard at work on their next project - a 5 track EP titled 'Feel it Too'. Keep an eye out for the EP in 2019.
LIFE AND HABITAT
Think of one of those times when driving through the countryside and come upon an amazing view and say, “Wow, I should capture that…but, nah. Forget it! I can’t make time.” That’s not ENRIQUE AGUIRRE. This curious and accomplished human will travel far to sit and wait…his magic follows. See for yourself.
BLUES ABOVE WATER
SCOTTIE MILLER BAND releases Stay Above Water. This Minnesota Blues Hall of Famer has toured with blues icon Bo Diddley. He’s first and foremost a pianist, with a grease-and-grits-slathered approach that suggests an affinity for New Orleans, Memphis, and swampy spots in between.
FACES OF AMSTERDAM
Dutch photographer and world traveler TON HENDRIKS series Stadsgezichten (Faces of the City) portrays the inhabitants of Amsterdam as a colorful quilt of the city’s urban culture. HENDRIKS is also the author of many photography books.
BACKSTAGE PASS
From spending time with his grandmother, listening to her radio, collecting an extensive record collection and attending every concert under the sun, Minnesota photographer JIM VASQUEZ is a fly on the wall at most live music venues around the Twin Cities. “Minnesota Music for the Record" is his latest gig.
